With cooler days quickly approaching, transitional fashion is a must! Like so many other throwback fashion trends around this year (see our post on Birkenstocks & Mules) the Off-The-Shoulder look has hit the runways with modern twists. This versatile piece is the perfect addition to your summer/fall wardrobe!
Styling for Summer
As fall is approaching, DON’T forget that we still have a little bit of summer yet. Let’s soak that in while it lasts! Finish off your summer in style while pairing an off the shoulder top with denim shorts and a fun necklace. Or if you’re hitting the pool or beach for one last summer adventure, try using a lightweight off the shoulder top as a swim suit cover up.
This style of top will pair great with all of the staple pieces you already have in your closet, it will just add that extra wow factor to your outfit. Is it just us, or was this top basically made to be paired with an A-line skirt!? Try adding a button down to create a unique, chic look.
Styling for Fall
As the weather does start to change to cooler days, you can start styling this top a little differently. While transitioning into fall, try pairing an off the shoulder top like this Blu Pepper Woven Long top with a pair of high waisted flares. Go ahead and channel your inner 90’s girl, its back! You could also pair this top with your favorite skinny jeans and booties!

And of course, when we think fall, we think layers. Try layering your favorite lace tank or bralette to add a textured layer to your overall look. You can try different necklines too; halter, razor back or even a more traditional over the shoulder strap.
An off the shoulder top obviously leaves your neck and shoulders exposed. This creates the perfect canvas for layering all of your favorite jewelry and accessories! Pair chokers and long, but simple necklaces to add some interest and texture to this outfit.
As the days get chillier, throw on your favorite scarf. Feel free to mix different fabrics. Try a chunky knit scarf or a cotton blanket scarf. Both of these looks will add some dimension to your already stylish look.
