Your fridge is plastered with Save the Dates and Wedding invitations. You have a calendar full of close friend’s weddings and are trying to figure out the perfect outfit to impress your date. We have put together some Do and Don’t guidelines to help you put together a great wedding guest look this summer!
There are a few wedding attire no-no’s that you will want to be aware of.
Don’t wear white..or cream, ivory, etc. Perhaps the biggest “don’t” of them all. This entire color pallet is reserved for the bride. You don’t want to be THAT person who attempts to steal the show.
Don’t wear stiletto heels to an outdoor wedding. There are so many reasons for this one. Most importantly, you don’t want to go ruining your favorite pumps by aerating the lawn with each step. Instead, opt for a chunkier sandal or wedges.
Don’t be afraid to wear patterns or bright colors. As we said before, whites and the like are not appropriate wedding attire colors. But this doesn’t limit you to blacks and other neutrals. Try fun, bright colors and patterns. Just because you can’t wear white doesn’t mean you can’t also be stunning and noticeable at a wedding.

Ok ok, here is the part about what you CAN wear to a wedding! We have put together so many fun looks to help inspire you to find your perfect wedding outfit..or three.
Do play with dress lengths. Is it a formal wedding? A maxi dress would be a great option for this style of wedding. If the wedding you’re attending is more casual, a mini or midi dress length would be perfect!

Do wear comfortable wedges or dressy sandals. Trust us on this one. The dance floor will be calling your name, and your feet will thank us later. There are so many stylish yet comfortable shoe choices that will perfectly complete your outfit.

Do wear airy and breathable fabrics. Again..the dancing! You’ll want to be comfortable all night long. Weddings can be marathons. You have a ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, dinner and dancing to get through. It’s important to wear something that will keep you comfortable and looking fresh throughout the event.
Do dress in layers depending on the location of the wedding. Here in Oklahoma, we can have all four seasons in one day. Be sure to bring a long duster cardigan or a summary scarf that you can throw over your shoulders if it gets breezy.
